The Milwaukee County Zoo is considered among the finest in the country. It is situated on 200 wooded acres and is home to approximately 2,500 animals, representing 300 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, fish and invertebrates.

The Milwaukee County Zoo hosts more than 20 special events each year including celebrations at Easter, Halloween and the holiday season.

Open 365 days a year, the Zoo is not be be missed, it's the wildest place in town!

Breakfast and Lunch with Santa

Make a day out of a holiday-themed meal and enjoy time visiting the Zoo! Families can share a breakfast or lunch with Santa and enjoy tasty treats, a live sing-a-long and even an appearance by Mrs. Claus! Afterward, stay and enjoy the Zoo and see winter animals like the Amur tigers and polar bears. 

Breakfast is served at 9 a.m. on Saturdays only, and lunch is at noon on both Saturdays and Sundays. Each meal, held in the Zoo’s Peck Welcome Center, includes a visit from Santa, a gift for each child and admission to the Zoo. All seats are reserved, and registration is limited. Tickets are $13 per child or adult, children 2 and under are $5 and parking is $10. Zoological Society memberships are not valid for this event. Zoological Society's Centennial Celebration Kickoff

Kick off a year of celebrations in honor of the Zoological Society's 100 year anniversary! The ZSM’s Centennial Celebration Kickoff at the Zoo will feature an animal-themed cake decorating contest, Old World Wisconsin historical interpreters dressed in 1910-era garb, a live barbershop quartet. old fashioned games, crafts and candy and a gallery of old photos and news clippings from the zoo. Free cake, popcorn, coffee and hot chocolate will be offered while supplies last.The centennial event is free and open to the public. Regular Zoo admission and parking fees apply. Samson Stomp and Romp for the Zoo

Calling all runners, walkers and fans of the Zoo! Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the popular race honoring one of the most famous Zoo residents, Samson the gorilla. Money raised from the event will help support all of the animals in the Zoo’s collection. Pre-registration is $17 for individual runners, $16 for childrens' races and $14 each for teams and families of four or more. Register at the event for $19 for individuals and $16 each for families. Wines and Beers of the World

Don't miss one of the biggest wine and beer tastings in town! Chat with wine and beer experts and enjoy tastes of pasta, cheeses, pizza, dips and more. New this year will be samples of Mexican cuisine and soups, as well as tea sampling. Enjoy tastes of sparkling wines, sweets and coffee later in the evening. You can even see live orangutans and gorillas in the Apes of Africa and Primates of the World exhibits, which will be open until 9 p.m.

Visitors must be 21 years of age to attend. I.D. is required at the door. Each guest will also receive a complimentary, etched commemorative wine glass. Registration is $40 for Zoological Society members and co-registering guests before Jan. 22, and $50 for non-members. All attendees may register for $50 after Jan. 22.
