Last week was Travel Week at OnMilwaukee.com and we were full of great stories about destinations near and far. Best of all, you, our readers, stepped up and blogged a storm of travel-related stories, memories, advice and more.
Those blogs were all considered for our contest to win an all-inclusive thre-night trip to Riu Palace Riviera Maya in Mexico, valued at $2,250, from Apple Vacations.
A lot of blogers did great jobs. Laurafern11, cheesebabe74 and ppraznik227 jump to mind, but there were many others, too. So, we say thank you, and we hope you'll keep sharing your thoughts and ideas with us and your fellow readers.
But here's the moment, you've all be waiting for: Thanks to her many thoughtful, well-written blogs, the winner is Cybershaz. She wrote about traveling with pets, food in Barcelona, the dichotomy of Johannesburg, geocaching in Curacao, romance in Chicago and more.
"I liked her blogs because of the diverse subject matter," says OnMilwaukee.com staff writer Molly Snyder Edler. "They are pretty well-written and she was consistent in providing them. And I like the cheesehead cat photo."
"I appreciated Cybershaz's effort to blog on a variety of travel-related topics to relate interesting insight into things other travelers might find useful," says our Julie Lawrence.
Senior editor Drew Olson agreed. "It's clear that Cybershaz has traveled extensively and embraces the adventurous aspect of checking out new places. Hopefully, we'll get some comprehensive reports on Riu Palace Riviera Maya."
