At least once a week, someone asks me where they should take their out-of-town guests when they visit Milwaukee. I'm flattered to be asked that question.
But now it's my turn to ask.
Two of my old friends from college, Paul and Brian, are visiting this weekend for a final hurrah before Baby Tarnoff arrives in September. Thing is, they've each been here a handful of times over the years. That means we've already covered the brewery tours, the Safe House, the art museum, the Brewers game ... and all the obvious places us Milwaukeeans take first-time visitors.
Additionally, these guys aren't looking specifically for culture in their short stay here. We just want to have a good time, relive old stories and hang out this weekend. I think I have the nightlife covered -- but what do we do during the day?
Sure, we could go to State Fair or Arab World Fest, but honestly, I'd like to try something else.
I have a few ideas up my sleeve, but I'd rather hear what you think. If you had three days to entertain old friends, where would you take them? Please let me know using the Talkback feature below.

Rockerbox. Then work our way south back to Bay View, eating and bar-hopping all the way.

I just hosted some out of towners... here's what they were super impressed with - the new Bradford Beach, Alterra on the Lake, the third ward (the 'sizzle' was going on, but we wandered during the day), Maxie's Southern Comfort restaurant, playing pool and lounging on the balcony at the Bad Genie Rock Lounge on Jefferson St. (and the pool's free!). A cocktail or appetizer at the bar at the Ambassador Hotel is awesome, Roots and the view is great, and Brady St. is always cool too.

it's sold out, but maybe being in the industry you're in, you might be able to pull some strings and get tickets to "the great taste of the midwest" in madison on saturday afternoon. also, rockerbox at fuel, bands start at noon and it's free. river boat tour is fun, too:)
