Although there is a fairly hearty menu of roasted pig, beer brats, turkey legs and burgers available, if you're heading down to the annual Great Lakes Brew Fest in Racine on Saturday, Sept. 19, do as the regulars do and build yourself a dangling necklace of pretzels to wear during your day-long tasting adventure.
Trust us, the salty snacks come in handy while you're waiting in line for samples (or bathrooms, or other food). And everyone's doing it.
The pretzel necklaces have become a tradition at the craft brewer festival, which celebrates six years at Racine Festival Park, from 3 to 7 p.m. The event gathers more than 250 crafts beers and sodas from about 100 brewers across the country and brings them to the beer heartland, along the western shores of Lake Michigan.
General admission is $35 (the designated driver rate is only $15, though) and that opens the floodgates for unlimited (unlimited!) suds sampling throughout the day. Again, take our advice and wear your snacks for easy access.
Take a holiday from the usual (insert commerical brewery name here) Light varieties and belly up to a few of these bad boys:
