If you were counting on using the bus to get around this evening, you're out of luck. The Milwaukee County Transit System halted service at 5:30 p.m. due to the heavy, blowing snow.
Nearly two dozen buses got stuck in the snow this afternoon, prompting the decision.
Normal service should resume Thursday morning.
Mitchell International Airport also is closed for the evening, which has inconvenienced thousands of travelers including the Bucks, who will remain in Dallas after their game against the Mavericks.
County transit officials, along with Milwaukee Police, are urging people to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.
