Zim's, 770 N. Milwaukee St., hosts a Milwaukee Wave viewing bash on Saturday at 4 p.m. as the Wave take on the California Cougars live on Versus network.

Wave staff will blog at the event, fans can play FIFA Soccer on Xbox 360 on an alternate screen, win free staff and get photos take for OnMilwaukee.com's "In Click" section.

Saturday's game is the second of a late-season saturday soccer showdown on Versus, the network that claims to "celebrate competition in all its forms." The Wave (14-14) go to Stockton, Calif., to meet the California Cougars (7-22) with their 13-season playoff streak hanging in the balance.

Here are the play off scenarios verbatim from Wave staff:

IF THE WAVE WIN BOTH OF THEIR FINAL GAMES
It's still not a done deal. It's possible that Milwaukee, Baltimore, Philadelphia and Chicago all could end the season with 16-14 records. The tiebreaker for multiple teams is head-to-head in all games involving tied teams -- but only to determine the first entrant. That puts Baltimore on top with a 10-8 mark against the others. Then the head-to-head would be re-figured with the remaining teams to find the next team in. Everyone remaining would have 9-9 records with everyone else, so the next tiebreaker is point differential against all the other teams -- which won't be determined for good until the results are in. It's also possible that Baltimore, Philadelphia and Milwaukee could finish in a three-way for third place tie at 16-14. Point differential again would be the criteria.

IF THE WAVE SPLIT THEIR FINAL GAMES
Don't give up hope yet. It's even possible that Saturday's game in California would be the chance to clinch. For that to happen, Baltimore would have to lose Friday against Philadelphia and Saturday afternoon at Chicago. That would leave the Blast at 15-15. Because the Wave have the tiebreaker advantage over the Blast, Milwaukee would need only to match their record to earn a bid. Milwaukee can also get in at 15-15 by losing to California then defeating Chicago, but the Storm would have to drop their last three games.

IF THE WAVE LOSE BOTH GAMES
Well, it was fun while it lasted.
