A crowd of 17,090 watched Cleveland beat the Los Angeles Angels, 4-2, this afternoon at Miller Park. Travis Hafner's towering three-run homer in the bottom of the eighth was the difference for the Indians, who won two of three in the series.
But, that's not the story.
Over three games, the neutral-site series necessitated by bad weather in Cleveland attracted 52,496. In contrast, the three games between the Brewers and Marlins this week in Miami attracted 33,419.
Among the attendees on Thursday afternoon was ESPN college basketball analyst Dick Vitale, who threw groundballs to his twin grandsons on the field before the game and toured both clubhouses.
