My Brewers are continuing to struggle and my Mets have lost five straight. But last week, soccer kicked off in parts of Europe, so, Yi and Favre are completely off my radar (if they ever were really on it) and I'm thinking Toro.
Sure, week one was a draw, but one point is better than zero and Alessandro Rosina ranks third in Yahoo's poll asking who played best in the season opening weekend. Add to that the news that Alvaro Recoba's transfer from Inter is official and I'm feeling all granata (that's Torino FC's color and nickname) on the inside again.
However, since Toro isn't nearly as rich as crosstown rivals Juventus or Milan's teams, the club -- which has one of the most glorious histories in Italian soccer, but hasn't won the Serie A since 1976 -- is still likely to struggle a little unless there's some magic.
But this year's baseball season -- and being a Mets and Brewers fan -- has further prepared me for that. Anyway, true fan passion isn't motivated only by wins, is it Brewers faithful? Ale, Ale!
