It doesn't matter who the Brewers sign or who is rumored to sign. People are going to complain everytime. Like they know best. It's a shame.

Spring Training Notes:

TUCSON -- The Brewers dominated the White Sox in all phases of the game on their way to an 11-0 victory at Tucson Electric Park Friday. It was the Brewers' second consecutive win, pushing their Cactus League record to 12-12. Gary Glover didn't disappoint in his second start of the spring.

Glover has officially thrown his name into the ring for the fifth spot in the rotation with five shutout innings. He mixed speeds and had very good location allowing only three hits.

Over the course of the spring, Glover has only allowed one earned run in 13 innings pitched -- making decisions very difficult for Doug Melvin and Ned Yost. Glover was signed as a minor league free agent over this past off-season and is in competition with Wes Obermueller and the fast fading Ben Hendrickson for the fifth and final spot in the rotation.

Glover is another one of Melvin's reclamation projects, continuing the string of the GM's shrewd findings.

Drag Bunts:

The Brewers basically played a B lineup Friday against the White Sox. Trent Durrington got the start at second, and Chris Magruder was in left, while neither Geoff Jenkins nor Carlos Lee made an appearance.

Dave Krynzel had a nice game at the plate while continuing to play a stellar center field. Krynzel went 4-4 and smacked a long home run down the right field line over the foul pole. Again, if Krynzel can produce at the plate he will get playing time with the big club.

Jeff Cirillo continued to cement his place on the ball club with three more hits. Cirillo looks like a giddy teenager out on the field, which a big change from his normally intense behavior. His return to the Brewers may have revitalized his career.

After having a rough outing at first base Thursday, Prince Fielder made some nice plays over at first base showing some good agility on a high throw from Durrington. He also showed soft hands and a low throw from Bill Hall to end the game.

The Brewers are showing some nice depth in the bullpen as Travis Phelps, Jeff Bennett and closer Mike Adams threw shutout innings, Phelps tossing two.

Phelps helped his cause to join Jorge De La Rosa as the Crew's lefty contingent in the bullpen. De La Rosa still has an outside chance at the fifth spot in the rotation, but having two lefties in the bullpen will look like a windfall for Manager Ned Yost after surviving all of last year without a lefty in the pen.

After Thursday's game between the White sox and the Rockies was canceled after five innings due to swarms of bees -- there seemed to be no problems with insects of any kind.

The Brewers host the San Francisco Giants today at Maryvale Baseball Park. Chris Capuano will be on the hill for the Crew.
