Terry Porter is once again a head coach in the National Basketball Association.
The Arizona Republic is reporting this morning that Porter was hired Sunday night by the Phoenix Suns to fill their vacant coaching position.
Porter, 45, will be introduced at a news conference later today in Phoenix. It is reported that he signed a three-year contract worth about $7 million.
After a 17-year playing career, the Milwaukee native and UW-Stevens Point alumnus spent two seasons as the Bucks' head coach. He finished with a 71-93 record, but his first team went 41-41 and made the playoffs.
He was fired following the 2005 and took a year off before returning to the NBA as an assistant with Detroit and spent the last two seasons as an assistant on Flip Saunders' staff.
