Think you have what it takes to battle on the grid iron? Milwaukee's women's tackle football team, The Milwaukee Momentum, holds open try outs beginning Monday, Sept. 25 at Lincoln Park. Try outs run 6-7:30 p.m. on Sept. 25, 27 and Oct. 2, 4, 9 and 11.
The Momentum began its inaugural season in April 2005 as an expansion team in the National Women's Football Association, a League comprised of 38 teams in 25 states across the country. The Momentum completed its 2006 season with a 3-5 record. The team is a division of Shatter the Ceiling, Inc which is a Wisconsin non-profit corporation created to encourage and assist women of all ages to dream big and tap into their unlimited potential.
If you are ready for some football, you must bring a copy of your health insurance cards and a one-time $35 try out fee. The team also suggests that you wear appropriate workout clothing and bring cleats.
