Brewers pitcher Chris Capuano is an enthusiastic East Sider.
The 27-year-old left-hander has lived in different apartments on and around Prospect Avenue since coming to Milwaukee three years ago and enjoys the vibe of living near the lakefront and Brady Street, etc. Like many of his neighbors, Capuano was bummed when he found out that the Prospect Mall is closing.
"That was my favorite place to watch a movie," Capuano said after beating Detroit last week. "It was never very crowded, which I guess is why they're closing. But, I liked it because you could go there any time, put your feet up on the seat and kind of hang out.
"I liked that mall. I liked that record shop down there, with all the old stuff. It was a good place to hang out."
Capuano said he enjoys living on the East Side and raves about it to his friends from out of town. Where does he take them?
"Sol Fire on Farwell is my favorite restaurant," he said. "It's Cuban / Caribbean. The jerk chicken is really good and the fish tacos. They have fried plantains. It's really, really good. I also like Apollo Cafe on Brady. I go to lunch there a lot. Bacchus is really good, too. But, it's really pricey."
