Despite a spirited effort by the team's public relations staff and fans, Brewers left-hander Chris Capuano fell short in his bid to win the 26th and final spot on the National League all-star team.

Major League Baseball just announced that Los Angeles first baseman Nomar Garciaparra won the election, which wrapped at 5 p.m. today.
