The gym at St. Cat's in Racine is a great pick. Anyone who played high school basketball in this area hated playing there because it was the best home court advantage around. It's a classic, old school gym - no pull out bleachers here.

Adding: Phil Garner on a PA system asking fans to stop throwing baseballs on the field. That was when Opening Day was the real deal, and not the amateur hour it's turned into. Subtracting: tuddlefo's post. Are you serious? Telly is terrible. He makes Trenni look like Connie Chung. They should have a local kid with a broadcasting major at UWM do that job every year as an internship. All the dead air and nervous stuttering would be a massive improvement.

Good list. But shouldn't "When they called it the Greater Milwaukee Open (GMO)" be replaced with "When there was a PGA tournament in Milwaukee."?

Bo Ryan is wrong

One way or another, Jarrod Uthoff is gone from the Badgers basketball program. To hold him back, while within the rules, is a morally and ethically bankrupt position for the University of Wisconsin to hold.

Stricker looks for major

Madison resident Steve Stricker is the fifth-ranked player in the world, yet he enters this week`s Masters Tournament as a dark horse to capture his first major championship.

UWM coach honored

On the heels of his third 20-win season at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, men`s basketball coach Rob Jeter has been inducted into the inaugural class of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Hall of Fame.

"Mike" check

Mike Kelley was one of "those" basketball players. Never flashy, but efficient. Fundamentally sound with leadership qualities oozing from his sweat. Kelley was that clich�, "lets his game do the talking" type of athletes. No longer an athlete, Mike Kelley now lets his talking describe a game - as a college basketball color analyst for the ESPN Network family.
