If the morning soundcheck was any indication, Phil Vassar's fans are in for a solid show tonight at the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard.
While workers readied the grounds for Day 2 of the Big Gig, Vassar, a 44-year-old country singer / songwriter who is a favorite with Summerfest crowds, delivered a tight, blistering version of the title track of his new CD "Prayer of a Common Man."
When soundcheck ended, he headed to the rocks to conduct an interview with Great American Country (GAC), the cable channel that has a tour bus and a crew here this week to document acts like Little Big Town, LeAnn Rimes, Vassar and others.
Vassar is slated to perform at 10 p.m.
