MILWAUKEE - OnMilwaukee.com didn't randomly sample a stratified, area-probability sample of potential voters. Nor do its latest poll results have a margin of error of plus or minus 4.6 percentage points.
But, it did ask readers of its daily magazine to cast an early vote for Mayor over the last week. Multiple votes from identical I.P. addresses were thrown out to lessen ballot-stuffing efforts from several campaigns.
36.3 percent of people voting on OnMilwaukee.com said they would be voting for David Clarke for Milwaukee Mayor on Feb. 17, 2004. Tom Barrett was second at 33.4%. Sandy Folaron placed third at 13.1%.
Between Feb. 5-12, 2004 readers of OnMilwaukee.com were asked, "Who gets your vote in the Feb. 17 mayoral primary?"
The results follow:
Tom Barrett 33.4%
Vincent Bobot 3.6%
David Clarke 36.3%
Frank Cumberbatch 1.2%
Sandy Folaron 13.1%
Arthur Jones 1.1%
Tom Nardelli 2.0%
John Pitta .6%
Marvin Pratt 7.6%
Leon Todd 1.1%
The poll was cookie enabled, non-scientific and for entertainment purposes only. 830 people voted on the poll. OnMilwaukee.com is Milwaukee's daily magazine and is one of the largest publications, by readership, in the Metro Milwaukee area. The Milwaukee Mayoral primary election is Tues., Feb. 17, 2004.
