OnMilwaukee.com, Milwaukee's daily magazine, announced Tuesday the hiring of Damien Jaques as its new theater columnist. Jaques, the former theater critic for the Milwaukee Journal and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, brings with him 29 years of experience in arts coverage, and will write a weekly column for OnMilwaukee.com.
"Damien's column will continue to reinforce our magazine's commitment to reporting on and reviewing Milwaukee's theater scene," said Andy Tarnoff, publisher and co founder. "His reputation speaks for itself, and we're excited that we can now add excellent performing arts content to our diverse offering of Milwaukee lifestyle and entertainment coverage."
Jaques has served two terms on the board of the American Theatre Critics Association, a term on the board of the association's foundation, and he studied the Latinization of American culture in a University of Southern California fellowship program. Damien also hosted his own arts radio program, "Milwaukee Presents with Damien Jaques," on WHAD for eight years.
"Milwaukee is among the best theater towns in the country, and I am excited about continuing my coverage of the city's theater people, companies and productions for OnMilwaukee.com," said Jaques.
Jaques will begin his weekly theater column in September, just in time for Milwaukee's theater season. His column will run Thursdays in OnMilwaukee.com's Arts and Entertainment section.

That's great news, Damien! Glad to know we'll continue to hear from you outside of specials to the Journal Sentinel. This remains a marvellous theater town and it's good to have you here.
