A 'must see' for both locals and tourists. A unique, eclectic hideaway, decorated in antiques and collectables from around the world, with live entertainment and no cover charge. Relaxing yet upbeat, Irish music make for a nice change from the Jazz clubs that seem to dot the East Side.
The patio open in the summer is not your usual MKE "beer garden". This patio is overflowing with summer flowers and has running waterfall fountains. Patio has it's own bar located in a cute, tiny building also decorated in kitsch collectables. The owner Woody walks through the crowd greeting everone and making everyone feel like they are at home, even on their first visit.
Not much of a wine list. The crowd is mostly drinkers, so be sure to check out the huge selection of rare and unusual Irish Whiskey. Smoking is not allowed in the attic bar where the entertainment is, or in the front lower levels, only downstairs in the first barroom or out on the patio.
Seating is scarce, so expect to share a table with others and meet some of the friendliest, most interesting people around. All ages congregate at Paddy's and the dress is 'urban casual'. Public parking is right across the street and plenty of other bars and eateries within walking distance, but you probably won't want to leave Paddy's once you get there and settle in and enjoy the Irish hospitality.
