Talkback: Can I break up with someone over the phone?

Not bad for a first column. The humor does seem a little forced though.
As for the break up question. If her feelings have been changing for over the last year, my bet is that he knows it on some level. I agree that he deserves to know prior to coming to town, but I'll make another bet that she can't avoid the face to face conversation once he is in town.
I also recommend avoiding that 19 year old. Find yourself a nice older guy who knows how to pick out a nice wine.
