The presidential debates are actually somewhat interesting compared to years past where I thought they were too scripted. It is encouraging that we as a nation seem to be debating more and asking better questions. What do we want to be as nation? The candidates aren't exactly addressing this but getting closer. Let's start there (using the Constitution and Declaration of Independence as a guide). Then we can argue about the best way to achieve these common goals. This way we can lessen the propaganda and get a better understanding of the true costs/benefits of the proposed approaches keeping in mind the shared goals and lessening the personal attacks. Great article.
