Double Cut Charcoal Grill, a steak and seafood bistro, opens today at the Kalahari Resorts in Wisconsin Dells. The restaurant was created via a partnership with Minneapolis-based Parasole Restaurant Holdings and replaces the resort's Kahunaville Restaurant.

I'm turning 26 and wanted to do something special. I wasn't looking for an average birthday celebration. I wanted to go out of town, maybe get crazy in Las Vegas, something new and exciting. However, it proved to be a bit difficult to coordinate my group of friends and get everyone on board for a vacation. Instead, I thought why not run 26 miles for my 26th birthday?

We all know Wisconsin has its share of the quirky. And we don't mind celebrating it. Whether or not we'd want someone from south of the state line to do it, is questionable. But when Chicago writer Jerome Pohlen does it - in the new second edition of his book "Oddball Wisconsin: A Guide to 400 Really Strange Places" - it's OK.

Wisconsin duck tours in the Wisconsin Dells last about an hour and take place on land and water. Beautiful scenery, moments of thrill and a little bit of splash make the experience well worth the time and money.
