It was a tough, tough week for sports in Milwaukee. We may have witnessed the end of two sports entities in the city, the Wave indoor soccer team and auto racing at the Milwaukee Mile. The financial problems facing both are serious. And the ills that bedevil the two are as different as Michael Jackson and Stonewall Jackson.

Waving goodbye? XSL folds; Wave's future in doubt
After 25 years in business, the Wave's future is in doubt. Fox 6 reported last night that the Xtreme Soccer League is folding, leaving the team without a league. Word has it that longtime owner Charles Krause is going to end his financial support, too.
