You may already know I'm a passionate promoter of Italy's Piemonte region, where my roots go deep. I'm especially happy when I can combine that with promoting Milwaukee, too. So, for my latest trick, I'm working with others in Italy and Milwaukee to bring Piemonte Cinema, a review of films from Piemonte to Discovery World on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 11-12.

That got your attention, didn't it? I asked you all here today because I want to hear your big ideas for Milwaukee. I don't care if they seem realistic or do-able. I want to know what you really wish Milwaukee had. Be it a 10-line subway system or Sarah Palin as mayor, share your big Milwaukee ideas here.

Eldina Long and Erica Malan of Italy's Gruppo Teatro Angrogna, from the town of Angrogna in the Val Pellice west of the Piedmontese capital of Turin, were at Festa Italiana last summer to do demonstrations of the classic "cucina povera" soup from their area.

It's true, the Olympics bring out a weird, latent interest in sports in me. Not sure why.
