Supa Barbetta makes delicious use of stale bread
Eldina Long and Erica Malan of Italy's Gruppo Teatro Angrogna, from the town of Angrogna in the Val Pellice west of the Piedmontese capital of Turin, were at Festa Italiana last week to do two demonstrations of the classic "cucina povera" soup from their area.

Put up or get down: the case for relegation
Since we soccer fans had to endure the tiresome flood of articles telling us what's wrong with our game during the World Cup, it seems only fair that fans of baseball, basketball and football take a moment to consider this key problem with basically all American professional sports: relegation. Or the lack of it.

World Cup goes back to Rome
When the World Cup started in early June, I was a devoted follower of the Italy games, but trying not to get my hopes up, since it might not be that long a commitment. I certainly never expected to see gli Azzurri hoist the cup for the second time in my life (and first in my adult life). So, the victory was sweet.
