Saturday Scorecard: Brewers should keep Cameron
Veteran centerfielder Mike Cameron will be 36 in January, he strikes out a lot, he's prone to hot streaks and long slumps and his defense might not be as good as it was seven or eight years ago. Despite all that, he's the best bet for the Brewers as they try to build on the success of their 2008 playoff run. Picking up his option was smart. Resisting the urge to trade him will be smart, too.

Outfielder Tony Gwynn, Jr., sidelined by a strained left hamstring, was placed on the 15-day disabled list. The Brewers recalled infielder Hernan Iribarren from Class AAA Nashville to take Gwynn's spot on the roster.
