This is not your father's Ma Bell
On one hand, you could say that the American telecommunications industry has come full circle. In the old days, you had THE phone company, AT&T, also known as Ma Bell. In 1984, Ma Bell was broken up into seven regional Baby Bells.

Mayor Barrett says Milwaukee is working on a city-wide Wi-Fi plan
Two months after OnMilwaukee.com first reported on it, the City of Milwaukee is finally edging closer to the broadbanding of Brew City, according to Mayor Tom Barrett.

City ponders Wi-Fi broadbanding Brew Town
Back in April, the City of Philadelphia announced that it would expand its Wi-Fi network to cover the city's entire 135 square miles. According to Milwaukee's Chief Information Officer Randy Gschwind, Milwaukee is also working to circumvent the wires.
