Pro sports ready for openly gay athlete

The major American pro sports leagues are getting ready for its first active, male athletes to come out. And when this happens there's going to be a lot of shouting about progress and how far we have come, but that's a little overwrought. Real progress will be when a gay professional athlete is only concerned about his performance on the field and the rest of us cheer or boo for the way he plays.

Admirals lose Muller to Carolina

After just 17 games as head coach of the Milwaukee Admirals, Kirk Muller has been hired as the new coach of the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes. Muller takes over for Paul Maurice, who was fired this morning. Assistant Ian Herbers will be introduced as the new Admirals coach this afternoon at a 3:00 news conference.

Sunday Scorecard: Addressing the interleague problem

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke stirred up a bit of controversy last week, calling interleague play "unfair" after his team dropped two of three to both Boston and Tampa Bay. Some fans took it as Roenicke making excuses for his team's play, but in reality he was stating a fact: interleague play is an unfair concept and needs to be fixed.
