Cocktailing is a year-round sport in Milwaukee, but the peak season generally coincides with our all-too-brief flirtation with warm weather. We've enjoyed a pleasant spring, which has provided ample opportunity to visit some of the city's spots and check out a few new venues for al fresco drinking and fun.

With temperatures regularly above 70 degrees, lots of sunshine and a crisp "fall is in the air" breeze, September seems like a dependable time of year to plan an outdoor activity. We had this thought recently when we visited the Milwaukee Kayak Company and paddled the Downtown waterways on a beautiful September afternoon.

Never waste an opportunity, I say. So, when the OnMilwaukee.com team found itself cruising the Milwaukee and Menomonee Rivers and doing a quick turn just beyond the Hoan Bridge, I snapped away at this view that many of us don't see on a regular basis.
