Lakefront Marathon runs into recognition
It's not the Boston, New York or even Chicago marathon getting a dose of attention this year. Milwaukee's own Lakefront Marathon was named the "2008 Road Race of the Year" by Road Runners Club of America.

Run like the wind
On Oct. 5, I completed my third career marathon at the Lakefront Marathon in Milwaukee. To some, that may seem impressive; in reality it pales in comparison to many of the men and women I run alongside. Some of my trail mates have ten or 20 times the amount of marathons under their fuel belts than I do.

Olympian kicks off Lakefront Marathon
Popularity of the marathon has exploded over the past few years, and this weekend's Lakefront Marathon is a prime example. This year's race expanded by 10 percent to accommodate 2,750 runners, and it still reached capacity in record time nearly four months ago. Now it has attracted the holder of the fifth fastest American marathon in history.
