Whether or not you think comedienne Sarah Silverman's mix of ditzy racism, campy self-absorption and genitals-on-her-sleeve sexuality reflects the real Silverman is probably irrelevant when viewing her film, "Jesus Is Magic." Whether you find any of it funny is quite relevant.

Doria Russell's novel shares real-life tales of humanity
An Italian-American by birth and a Jew by choice, Mary Doria Russell embarked on writing "A Thread of Grace" after reading Alexander Stille's book about Jews in Italy, "Benevolence and Betrayal." For her, the story of Italians' treatment of the Jews struck a deep chord.
