Jonas' Tonic Tavern raises bar on KK pub scene
Even if you live in Bay View, there's a good chance you're not familiar with the building that houses the new Tonic Tavern. Set back from the street, the converted horse stable is made up of a garage and back building. Together, they now form an "L" shaped space that opens into a corner for live music or area with bench seating.

Jazzman Germanson talks "Off the Cuff"
Pianist Rick Germanson is one of many Milwaukee-born and bred musicians who have become stalwarts on the New York jazz scene. His new disc, "Off the Cuff," is a testament both to how ingrained he's become in the Big Apple, and how he's maintained ties to Milwaukee. We caught up with him recently to talk about it.

It's been a long time since Milwaukee had a thriving jazz scene. Now that Hal Leonard has ceased sponsoring the Jazz Series at The Pabst, another nail has been pounded into the coffin of America's classical music here.
