ICC hosts 80 works by Sicilian photographer Leone
A Sicilian native, photographer Giuseppe Leone knows his land and his people. That's what makes the exhibition of his photographs of Sicily so interesting. "Sicily -- Baroque Imagery and Religious Celebrations" opens Wednesday, Nov. 12 at the Italian Community Center, 631 E. Chicago Ave., and runs through the end of the month.

Italian senator visits Milwaukee tonight
Chicago's Renato Turano, a member of the Italian Senate, will be on hand as the Filippo Mazzei Greater Milwaukee Lodge #2763 awards scholarships to two Milwaukee-area high school seniors, Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the ICC.

Immersion schools open doors for kids
Last week, K4 teacher Analisa Wolter opened up her classroom to visitors. Wolter is the first teacher to lead an Italian immersion class at Milwaukee Public Schools' Victory School on the far South Side.

French ambassador cheers on Les Bleus from Brew City
The French Ambassador to the United States, Jean-David Levitte, was in Milwaukee today to watch the France/Portugal game at the Alliance Francaise, 1800 E. Capitol Dr. in Shorewood. France won the match, 1-0, in Munich, Germany on a penalty kick by Zinedine Zidane to advance to the final on Sunday.
