I have been kind of out of commission for more than 40 days with a health difficulty and it's been a real long haul. I think I'm in the final couple of weeks before I get to go home, but lately I've been thinking a lot about what things I miss the most.

The dust has settled and the attractive landscaping is complete, paving the way for the East Side's new Columbia St. Mary's Hospital to open Oct. 12.

Last month, I wrote about baffling customer service in this blog. This week, I again experienced terrible customer service worthy of comment. Let's hope one local hospital is better at health care than it is at customer care.
