Back in May 2008 we made an exciting announcement: Milwaukee was joining the ranks of New York, Chicago and L.A. by hosting its first official Fashion Week. The three-day high fashion function was scheduled for Oct. 3-6, but one day before launch, it was canceled. Organizer Hillary Fry tells us what really happened.

He'll be in our corner of the world during Milwaukee Fashion Week, co-teaching a workshop with best friend Billy B on hair and makeup.

Attention fashion hounds: French designer Gilles Montezin, who dressed Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda for this year's movie (and whose style savvy will surface in next year's "Confessions of a Shopaholic"), is following up his stint at New York's recent Fashion Week with a trip to the Midwest to join in the inaugural Milwaukee Fashion Week, Oct. 3-6.
