Bon Iver wins 2009 WAMI award for Best Artist
Eau Claire native Justin Vernon, who performs as Bon Iver, was named Artist of the Year at the 29th annual Wisconsin Area Music Industry Awards, which were presented Monday night at Turner Ballroom. Legendary soul musician Harvey Scales and producer Butch Vig were inducted into the WAMI Hall of Fame and OnMilwaukee.com won an award for print/electronic media.

Bluesman Skoller maintains Milwaukee ties
Musician Matthew Skoller only lived in Milwaukee for about a decade, but it was an especially fertile time for music in Brew City. So, when he relocated to Chicago to pursue his career as a blues singer and harpist, he left a lot of talented friends back home.
