Community support keeps fire victim optimistic
When the Jan. 19 fire destroyed the Pizza Man building at Oakland and North, it also destroyed the homes of 10 apartment residents living upstairs. One of them, 39-year-old Dan Kern, can't help but smile considering the way the community has lent its help and support.

While Pizza Man plans benefit, talk turns to arson
A local bartender is collecting items for her friend who lost everything in the Pizza Man building fire last week. Now, Pizza Man's owners are also lending a hand to those who lived in the apartments above the restaurant. At the same time, Channel 12 news reports the fire started in the Black & White Cafe and is being considered arson.

Investigation, cleanup continue after fire devours Pizza Man building
A six-alarm fire on Milwaukee's East Side Tuesday morning has left three restaurants and nightclub out of business and tenants of 10 rental units without a home. Milwaukee Fire Department Arson Unit members, along with state and federal investigators, are still determining the cause of the blaze at the building known for East Side landmark, Pizza Man.
