Their 5-7 record may not conjure visions of playoff prowess, but the Brewers remain in the hunt and could be a an adjustment or two away from being a playoff contender. They've also shown some flaws that could torpedo their season. Bottom line: it's too early to draw conclusions either way.

While Brewers fans continue to fantasize about the club signing CC Sabathia, another important free agent is hanging out at home in Hartland, waiting for the phone to ring. Pitching coach Mike Maddux's contract with the team is set to expire and -- depending what happens with the manager -- it's uncertain whether he will return to the club next season.

After sputtering through September and their first two games in the playoffs, the Brewers -- led by leadoff man Mike Cameron (pictured) showed patience at the plate and were rewarded with a 4-1 victory over Philadelphia in Game 3 of the National League Division Series Saturday night at Miller Park.

Two games into their first playoff run in 26 years and facing the threat of elimination in Game 3 against Philadelphia, the Brewers found themselves talking about 1982. Though they respect franchise history, they'd like to forge an identity of their own. Bench coach Robin Yount, a key figure on the '82 team, wants to help.

The Bucks' season is a disaster and GM Larry Harris lost his job. Maybe bringing in Harris' father, Del, as an assistant could have prevented the collapse.
