Say "oui" to Laissez Faire
I'm starting to think the patrons must see us and coming and clear out, since like the last few places we tried, Laissez Faire was also empty. But that meant more time for the two-person staff to work on our meals, I suppose, and both my wife and I were pleased with our lunch.

In an effort to shed my "doesn't like change" reputation, I've been expanding my dining horizons lately. In addition to checking out new restaurants, I'm also looking at some old standbys I have yet to patronize.

New owner of Jake's Deli doesn't change a thing ... and that's why it's great
Step inside Jake's Deli and you might as well be entering a time machine. The clientele is different than it was 50 years go. But the booths are the same, and more importantly, so is the corned beef. And that's exactly how the owners like it.

A plethora of St. Paddy's Day eating and drinking options
St. Patrick's Day (Lá 'le Pádraig) is fast approaching, bringing with it an avalanche of events, but if you're not in the mood for green Miller Lite, blinking shamrock necklaces, and less than traditional renditions of a corned beef sandwich, Milwaukee has more than enough to get your Eire up.
