The glossy new book "Silver Screens: A Pictorial History of Milwaukee's Movie Theaters" -- published by the Wisconsin Historical Society -- looks like a real gem and it is. However, devotees of Larry Widen and Judi Anderson's "Milwaukee Movie Palaces" will find this new book by the same authors familiar.

Jefferson's drive in theater a trip well worth it
Here's some free advice: if you remember going to the drive-in as a kid and want to relive a piece of your youth, don't put it off much longer. When the 41 Twin, the last drive in theater in Milwaukee, came down to make room for future developments, it got a little harder to catch a movie under the stars.

While the German director's last film "Run Lola Run" was a thrill ride and a cinematic examination of chance, his new movie digs deep into the heart of humanity and is, in the end, a romance; an odd romance, but a romance nevertheless.
