Brewers select Macha as new manager
Now that the World Series is over, the Brewers have moved quickly to name a new manager. Former Oakland skipper Ken Macha, who had been working for the Boston Red Sox broadcast team, will manage the team. A press conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Miller Park.

Help wanted: Experienced big-league manager
Doug Melvin likes Dale Sveum. So did owner Mark Attanasio and the players. Despite a 7-5 finish and the franchise's first playoff berth since 1982, Melvin opted not to bring Sveum back as skipper in 2009 and is instead hoping to lure a manager with successful big-league experience.

Brenly seems to fit the bill as Brewers' next manager
Based on the apparent criteria, the Brewers can halt their search for a new skipper right now. Cubs TV announcer Bob Brenly has it all: experience, a track record of post-season success, media savvy ... Still, it's not a slam-dunk. One of the only certainties in baseball is that the moves that seem logical, easy and obvious seldom work out that way.

With the Brewers slated to open their season this afternoon at Wrigley Field (weather permitting), we caught up with Marquette University grad Len Kasper, who is entering his fourth season as the TV voice of the Cubs.
