A discussion on Facebook the other day -- combined with a PBS documentary on Roberto Clemente last night -- got me thinking about how packed full of stars 1970s Major League Baseball was.

Helping the national pastime pass even more time
After a questionable call went against the Brewers last week at Miller Park, many fans howled for the implementation of instant replay in baseball. Sports columnist Dave Begel wonders, "Why stop there?" Why not find even more "productive" ways -- particularly in this difficult economy -- to ensure that baseball fans don't get cheated out of their entertainment dollars.
