Downtown Dining Week: Sake Tumi
Arriving for lunch at noon, the narrow Milwaukee Street restaurant was packed and we opted to sit at the sushi bar in lieu of waiting for a table. Between the two of us, co-worker Erin Ulicki and I, we ordered one of everything on the three course "Downtown Dining Menu."

Popular appetizers: 1960-present
Because I'm in snack-making mode, I thought a lot about hors d'oeuvres lately, and for an unknown reason, challenged myself to find the top appetizer for each of the last four decades. How did I do?

Satisfaction ebbs and flows at Nanakusa
Nanakusa Japanese Restaurant, 408 E. Chicago St., can now be classified as one of Milwaukee's veteran sushi restaurants, with more than five years of service under its belt, and it is one of Milwaukee's three premier sushi mainstays. Getting my Pan Asia-on in Pewaukee
I have to admit I was skeptical before I even walked in the door of Asiana Oriental Cuisine, 1198 George Towne Dr. First, I wasn't crazy about schlepping all the way to Pewaukee for a lunch meeting. Second, the sign outside said "Oriental Cuisine."
