"Backstage Pass" is a front-row seat to rock history
When his band, The Messengers, broke up in 1971, Cavallo put away his drumsticks, picked up a camera and joined his father's photography business. When he wasn't shooting portraits and weddings, Cavallo became a regular at area concert venues and captured some great moments in Milwaukee rock history. Some of his work will be displayed during Gallery Night at at Light Ideas Gallery, 207 E. Buffalo St.

Ticketmaster snafu leaves Springsteen seething
You would think that Bruce Springsteen would be riding high after a solid performance during the Super Bowl halftime show and a new CD that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart. The Boss was upset, though, when a ticket distributor apparently tried to rip off fans on the day tickets for his next tour went on sale.

Heavy hearts on E Street
Danny Federici, who spent 40 years as the organist and keyboard player for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, died Thursday afternoon at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City after a three-year battle with melanoma.
