Jennings took long road back to Milwaukee
Brandon Jennings, the Bucks' 19-year-old first-round draft pick, ended his prep career at the Bradley Center in the 2008 McDonald's All-American Game. His NBA career will get underway in the same place, but Jennings took the long way in getting there.

Bucks land pair of guards
Most expected John Hammond to use the 10th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft on a point guard. Few, though, thought the Bucks general manager would use that pick on Brandon Jennings, a 19-year-old that spent last season playing professionally in Spain.

Sympathy for the bedeviled? Bucks deserve a break
Injuries aren't an excuse. You hear it all the time from players and coaches and it's hogwash. Considering the way things went for the Bucks in 2008-09, it's impossible not to consider the injuries that contributed to another frustrating trip to the NBA Draft lottery. Just as things seemed to be heading in the right direction, Michael Redd and Andrew Bogut got hurt.

Bucks' playoff hopes still strong
They've matched their total victories from last season. They've scored 100 points in three straight games. They're sharing the ball. They're playing defense. And, even without three key players, the Bucks -- 26-29 at the all-star break -- are still in playoff contention.

Bucks' injury bug elicits sympathy for the bedeviled
Though injuries to key players like Michael Redd, Andrew Bogut and Luke Ridnour have put a serious dent in the Bucks' post-season aspirations, head coach Scott Skiles and general manager John Hammond aren't looking for sympathy. The tough thing about the setbacks is the timing. Not only were the Bucks seemingly headed in the right direction, they need to build momentum for a much-needed new facility.

With Redd out for the year, Bucks turn to Plan B
Losing Michael Redd -- and his 21.2 points per game -- was a big blow for a Bucks team clinging to the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. With a trade unlikely, it will be up to his teammates to pick up the slack in order to make it to the post-season. Luckily for them, they've been down this road before.

Bucks' improvement brings cautious optimism
The signs are there: balanced offense, improved rebounding, more frequent commitment to defense. Because of that, the Bucks are ever-so-quietly crawling out of the NBA doldrums and preparing to make a charge at the postseason.

Bucks notes: Gadzuric makes most of opportunity
Dan Gadzuric hasn't had a lot of opportunities to make a big impression this season. Given a chance Wednesday night against the Bulls, he made the most of it. Gadzuric's 11 points and 14 rebounds helped propel the Bucks to a 97-90 victory.

Reader poll
Would you rather suffer through a December of sub-zero temperatures and blizzards or a first-round playoff loss at the hands of Brett Favre?
I'll take the Ice Age and a Packers win.
I'd rather see the Packers lose to Favre so I can stay warm.
This is like choosing the least painful way to die.
