A poem for your pocket
Today is -- at least according to NPR's "Morning Edition," National Poem in Your Pocket Day. That led me to share one of my favorites with you, but maybe you should only read this if you have a Blackberry or something. Otherwise, the poem isn't really in your pocket, even if it's in "the pocket," as musicians are fond of saying.

Meet the Milwaukee Poetry Contest winners
OnMilwaukee.com received scads of submissions for the Fifth Annual Milwaukee Poetry Contest, but two pieces stood out from the rest. Louisa Loveridge-Gallas’ poem, “The Estate of Grace,” received first place, and Catherine Averill’s “Milwaukee: The Leaving” took second.

OMC launches fourth annual Milwaukee Poetry Contest
For the fourth year in a row, OMC is accepting submissions for its Milwaukee Poetry Contest. All poems must be about Milwaukee or include the word "Milwaukee" and poems will be accepted via e-mail through Sept. 26.
