Weeks' improved play makes Brewers' day
No current Brewers player has taken more grief over the last year than Rickie Weeks. Showing continued development at the plate, on the bases and in the field, Weeks helped Milwaukee squeak out a thrilling, 4-3 victory against the Cubs on Opening Day at Miller Park.

Live, from Milwaukee ... It's Opening Day
The cabin fever epidemic officially ends today. The Brewers host the Cubs in their home opener. This is more than a baseball game, though. A lot more. This is New Year's Eve, St. Patrick's Day, Halloween and Spring Break all rolled into one. We're covering it from all angles here at OnMilwaukee.com, with a live blog that will take you to the bars, the parking lot, batting practice, the press box and the clubhouse -- all without leaving your computer. Check back often.

Leff's opening day tailgate bash will be a day late
Frustrated in their attempt to procure tickets for the popular Brewers opening day tailgate party sponsored by Leff's Lucky Town and The Hog (102.9 FM), many fans vowed to pay close attention and get tickets to the baseball bash this year. Unfortunately, it's already too late. The Brewers have decided not to sell group tickets to the April 10 opener against the Cubs, so Leff's and 102.9 The Hog will hold their benefit bash before the second game.

The most wonderful night of the year (for a cocktail)
The discussion cropped up in the editorial office the other day and we thought it would make a good discussion for Thanksgiving Eve. What is your favorite night of the year to enjoy a social drink? Is it tonight, which has a "reunion" vibe? Is it New Year's Eve, St. Patrick's Day or Opening Day, which have a "see how long you can stand" vibe? Is it Halloween, which has an "incognito" vibe? Or, is it another night that strikes your fancy?

Brewers' home opener had special meaning in '78
Hope, optimism and excitement will be abundant this afternoon at Miller Park, just as they were 30 years ago at County Stadium when the Brewers' franchise opened a new season and a new era.

Opening day demand leaves some bars, fans in the cold
A brutal winter, skyrocketing hope and a handful of other factors have created a ticket shortage for the Brewers' game April 4 against San Francisco. As a result, some bars don't have their usual supply of tickets.
