Illegal immigration issue standoff likely to linger
Republicans sought to draw attention to the immigration issue in the hope of passing legislation to stem illegal immigration and return undocumented workers already here. But as Congress adjourned this fall, there was no movement on the issue, despite it dominating discussion during the last weeks of the session.

MTV looks at the world of rich kids and their birthday parties in the reality show "Sweet Sixteen." Girls of Latin descent have experienced big celebrations of their own, called Quinceañeras, when they turn 15. "Quinceañera," the film, follows one girl's troubled journey from childhood into womanhood.

Milwaukee Achiever Program works for solutions
In 1982, a study called "Milwaukee 2000" revealed that one in every six Milwaukeeans was functionally illiterate. In response to this information, Alverno, Mount Mary and Cardinal Stritch colleges formed a not-for-profit organization called the Milwaukee Achiever Program, and today, have served almost 7,000 Milwaukee residents.
