Time to end the Michael Redd era in Milwaukee
Michael Redd is a great story ... a former second-round draft pick turned All-Star turned Olympian. But as good as Redd has been -- on and off the court -- during his 10 years with the Bucks, Dave Begel thinks its time for general manager John Hammond to trade the guard.

Bucks Notebook: Bogut returns; Ridnour stays hot
The Bucks will have center Andrew Bogut back in the lineup tonight when they face the Bulls. They'll also have red-hot Luke Ridnour coming off the bench. The guard is shooting 51 percent over his last eight games.

Jennings took long road back to Milwaukee
Brandon Jennings, the Bucks' 19-year-old first-round draft pick, ended his prep career at the Bradley Center in the 2008 McDonald's All-American Game. His NBA career will get underway in the same place, but Jennings took the long way in getting there.

Bucks land pair of guards
Most expected John Hammond to use the 10th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft on a point guard. Few, though, thought the Bucks general manager would use that pick on Brandon Jennings, a 19-year-old that spent last season playing professionally in Spain.

The Bucks' man with a plan
The Bucks, for the most part, have spent the last few years wandering aimlessly in the National Basketball Association's abyss. With second-year GM John Hammond calling the shots, it's starting to become clear: he's got a plan that will put Milwaukee back on the map.

Sympathy for the bedeviled? Bucks deserve a break
Injuries aren't an excuse. You hear it all the time from players and coaches and it's hogwash. Considering the way things went for the Bucks in 2008-09, it's impossible not to consider the injuries that contributed to another frustrating trip to the NBA Draft lottery. Just as things seemed to be heading in the right direction, Michael Redd and Andrew Bogut got hurt.

Saturday Scorecard: Bucks caught in a tough spot
By overcoming injuries and playing well after the all-star break, the Bucks raised the hopes of their diehard fans and began to spark interest among casual observers. Now that the team seems to be running out of gas, that might not be such a good thing.

Saturday Scorecard: The man who should be King
Cleveland wunderkind LeBron James is moving to the top of the top of the depth chart in terms of sports superstars, a field that has become less populous after the travails of marquee players like A-Rod and Michael Vick. James, who dropped 55 points in a victory over the Bucks Friday night at the Bradley Center, seems capable of handling the task. All he needs is to win a title, stay out of trouble and remain in Ohio.

Bucks' injury bug elicits sympathy for the bedeviled
Though injuries to key players like Michael Redd, Andrew Bogut and Luke Ridnour have put a serious dent in the Bucks' post-season aspirations, head coach Scott Skiles and general manager John Hammond aren't looking for sympathy. The tough thing about the setbacks is the timing. Not only were the Bucks seemingly headed in the right direction, they need to build momentum for a much-needed new facility.

With Redd out for the year, Bucks turn to Plan B
Losing Michael Redd -- and his 21.2 points per game -- was a big blow for a Bucks team clinging to the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. With a trade unlikely, it will be up to his teammates to pick up the slack in order to make it to the post-season. Luckily for them, they've been down this road before.

Bucks' improvement brings cautious optimism
The signs are there: balanced offense, improved rebounding, more frequent commitment to defense. Because of that, the Bucks are ever-so-quietly crawling out of the NBA doldrums and preparing to make a charge at the postseason.

Skiles the right choice for hopeful, growing Bucks
Scott Skiles came to the Bucks after compiling a 281-251 record in eight seasons with the Suns and Bulls. He also came with a reputation for being intense, hard-nosed and determined. He won't apologize for it, but sometimes perception isn't exactly reality.

Reader poll
Would you rather suffer through a December of sub-zero temperatures and blizzards or a first-round playoff loss at the hands of Brett Favre?
I'll take the Ice Age and a Packers win.
I'd rather see the Packers lose to Favre so I can stay warm.
This is like choosing the least painful way to die.
