Whiskey Bar revives the spirit of Jackson St. spot
Mike Vitucci, whose family owns and operates the 75-year-old Vitucci's Cocktail Lounge at 1832 E. North Ave., is opening Whiskey Bar kitty corner from Cathedral Square Park at 788 N. Jackson St. Whiskey Bar doesn't officially open until July, but Vitucci invited OnMilwaukee.com over for a preview tour of the spacious venue.

Pouring predicament persists at Jazz in the Park
Jazz in the Park kicks off its 2009 season Thursday night at Cathedral Square Park. Earlier this week, a state assembly committee, prompted by Rep. Leon Young, unanimously passed a bill allowing carry-ins, but officials likely will uphold their plans to ban patrons from bringing their own beer and wine to the event.

Young proposes Jazz in the Park exemption
State Rep. Leon D. Young (D-Milwaukee) has proposed legislation that would create an exemption for Jazz in the Park in the law that prohibits patrons carrying in their own booze. Current state law prohibits carrying in beverages because The East Town Association holds a license to sell fermented beverages in Cathedral Square Park during the event.
