On my way into work this morning, listening to NPR, I heard an interview with a cookbook author who said she loves the taste of figs directly from the tree so much that she can't bear to buy them in a store. And I thought, "yes"!

My list of gastro-disasters
In my book, cooking is usually two parts art to one part science. I rarely take recipes at face value and enjoy experimenting with random ideas I get on the fly. Sometimes, I amaze myself and consider starting bed and breakfast. Other times, I create gastro-distasters.
